From the Kitchen

So much more than meals are made in the kitchen.

The kitchen was the center of activity in the home I grew up in.  Not surprisingly, the same has been true of the home I’ve created.  Somehow we all seem to end up in the kitchen, either performing a meal-preparation ballet or sitting around the table talking.  It’s not like this is the only room in the house to congregate.  It’s not even the most comfortable.  But it is where so much of family life takes place.  I treasure the marks and stains on the table where our sons did their homework and made projects.  Some of the most salient conversations have taken place in our kitchen while cooking or washing dishes.  Talking side-by-side allows for more meaningful exchanges because it feels more informal and less threatening than face-to-face encounters.

This section is where I will share favorite recipes, memories of those from whom they originated, and stories of indelible moments that transpired in the kitchen.  So much more than food is served up to us From the Kitchen of our HeARTful Homes.
