Around the Children

Around the Children

Work is never done, but childhood will soon be gone.

No matter when or how they come to us, whether planned or unexpected…singly, in pairs or multiples…biological, foster, or adopted…the arrival of children changes everything.  They are delivered to us utterly dependent and vulnerable, so ready to believe whatever we tell them.  They listen to everything we say.  They watch everything we do.  We are the original mirrors through which they view themselves.  We are the primary influence on the earliest version of themself they come to know.  As such, we want to reflect an image of someone who is lovable, capable, and worthy.  When they look into our eyes, we want them to see our confidence in their ability to become the best version of themselves.  We want them to trust that we will do everything in our power to assist them in this endeavor.  Here you will find a collection of fingerplays, poems, songs, stories, and projects to assist in conveying these messages to our children as we undertake to provide them with A HeARTful Home.
